  • James never responded to my request

      I don’t know where to start and end with the grief I experienced with James Dienes, marketing manager for Redfin/inland empire location. The past 5 months has been an eye opener for me that there are people out there that abuse their position/title/access. How I first came in contact was when James reached out to me requesting me to remove my honest review I wrote about his close colleague Coleen Hyames. I’m not going to go in depth with the unpleasant encounters I had with this real estate agent, but I will say I will never let a women dressed in a professional suit and styled hair fool me again. Due to the review I wrote, James called me late evening requesting me to remove the review. I didn’t feel obliged to bc Coleen was very mean and nasty so I left it to be. This was the beginning when things went unraveling south with my Redfin estimate. James as the marketing manager, IT (back office) has full control of Redfins data. He took the liberty to first go into my personal Redfin account note in all caps “ DO NOT SERVE”. I kept a snapshot w these notes inputted on my first name section of my account. When I stumbled into it, I was confused and deleted it immediately. The following day the same do not serve was entered again. Taken aback I deleted it again, next thing, it was re-entered to not serve me same all caps. This was going on for about a week until I realized this was an actual person going into my account. Bizarre. I had a feeling this was all because of the review I wrote of James’ close colleague Coleen so I removed my review. I then called James. Lo and behold he said he could remove the do not serve now that I removed the review of Coleen. I thought what a strange exchange almost like a blackmail, but I just went along with it. After the removal, the note was removed but I started noticing my RF estimate started to experience volatile changes. I keep tabs on RF est. Sure there were slight changes but never a drastic up/and down swing. No other homes but mine as my neighbors and I witnessed this all together for 5 whole months. The estimates of ONLY MY HOME were drastically decreasing from decreasing in value from a $30k drop to 60k and then a whopping $100K+ plummeted. It made absolutely no sense. We are in new construction with only 65 homes in our small community. All the homes are always close to value w minor swings. While my home dropped to over $100k+ all my surrounding neighbors RF est increasing over the course of the months. It was so obvious something was off so I reached out to James Dienes. I shared this and he agreed that something was severely wrong. He said he would make sure he would take care of it by working on it with the internal side and have IT adjust it back to where it was sitting before this strange activity going on. It was fixed but it only last for a few days where it reverted back to the incredibly low estimate. I reached back out again and he said he will have someone else fix it once he gets the chance. He never got back to me. Then a women emails me from RF instructing me to wait 3 wks insuring me the value of my home will stick. 3 weeks passed the estimate decreased even lower. There is SO much more that happened in the interim of the beginning and today where this was all intentional to have me go in circles with no resolution. What was promised as an option to remove this ridiculous low RF est., james and his team @ the RF inland empire offered, they are now refusing to remove the estimate where it removed permanently. They removed on 03/08/24 (yesterday) and today 03/09/24 it’s back up reinstated! It’s very unfortunate that there are individuals out there that play dangerous games like this by altering data. All this that has taken place brings so much dishonor to the real estate profession. It’s unbelievable. It’s no different then fraud and this could lead to substantial economic harm due to the manipulation of data on one’s Redfin home estimate. One house leads to another then it multiplies.  I am so sorry I ever ran into Coleen and James. I’m going to look into filing a complaint to the DRE, NAR, citrus valley realtors, board of association realtors as a start. I will also write a review on the BBB to share all what I’ve experienced.

This was w out a doubt manually manipulated by a human not an algorithm. We are in new construction here with only 65 homes in our small community. All the homes (only 3 models here) are very close w the estimates w minor fluctuations. I was the ONLY home in our community that plummeted down OVER $100K + while all my surrounding neighbors their RF est increasing over the course of the months. It was very obvious something was off so I reached out to James Dienes, again. I shared this and he agreed that something was severely wrong. He said he would make sure he would take care of it by working on it with the internal side and have it back to where it was sitting. It was eventually fixed the estimate but that only lasted for a few days where it reverted back to the drop of $100k + I reached back out again and he said he will have someone else fix it this time. Then he never got back to me. I reached out again and he wrote me off to someone from his team a women emailing me instructing me to wait 3 full wks insuring me the value of my home will stick. 3 weeks passed the estimate decreased even lower. Bottom line is this was all intentionally designed from the beginning to have me go in circles with no resolution all bc I wrote a negative review of his colleague and the interaction I had with his receptionist. He took it very personal obviously and made sure I was never to be served just like he noted on my personal account which was really bizarre. If he didn’t want me to be served then why not communicate that privately to his team instead of making notes on my personal RF account. With the 5 months of this circus James and his RF team had me go through, I had no choice but to request my estimate feature be removed. He agreed to do that and removed the estimate but not even 48 hours the RF estimate is back up again. Same games. It’s very unfortunate that there are individuals out there that play dangerous games in their profession. Dangerous games like this by altering data is unethical and illegal. All this that has taken place brings so much dishonor to the real estate profession. It’s incredible.           I had an extremely bad and unusual experience with James Dienes and his Redfin team that he manages at the inland empire division. I have learned that 5 star reviews and a polished suit doesn’t tell you exactly how and who an individual is professionally, ethically, and morally. You really never know until you run into a conflict and then the true color comes out of a person. I won’t go into the very details of the 5 long months of grief working with James, but I will share that I’ll be looking into filing a complaint to the DRE, NAR, BBB, board of association realtors as a start of all I discovered which all is documented and saved). It’s a shame to the real estate profession that there are a few that are not good people in this industry. And now the Redfin Estimate feature of my home that he and his IT person removed per my request is back up again! They keep removing the feature and reinstating back-and-forth, obviously, to further aggravate if the 5 months of exhaust w him wasn’t enough. No other homes have this much nonsense activity other than our home. And it’s ironic ever since I wrote a review about his close colleague Coleen Hyam (which I agreed to remove), he had the audacity to go into my personal Redfin account entering in the first name section all caps “DO NOT SERVE” ( which he admit and have records of) Another malicious disservice ! Why enter orders to “do not serve” by going into my personal account? He could have privately communicated that amongst his team (which I expressed). He eventually removed the do not serve note going back into my RF account which he texted. Just everything truly a nightmare with him and his team.
