John has a truly unique toolbox for his clients. He had first hand knowledge as broker, seasoned real estate investor, and seasoned custom home builder -having built and sold many homes over $3M in San Diego. My wife and I worked with John as our buyers' agent for our recent (and first) home purchase. We'd worked with several agents prior to meeting John, so I feel that we have a strong basis for comparison. I personally don't think that our expectations were overly elevated with the other agents with whom we worked, since all we really desired was competence, but most agents seemed to fall short of even that. John, on the other hand, not only met our expectations, but entirely exceeded them. First, he has a strong business background as a real estate developer/investor. This has given him both a thorough understanding of the market and an ability to immediately know the underlying costs of things such as repairs or property modifications. Second, he gets numbers, which was, as a numbers guy myself, a breath of relief for me during the offering and negotiation phases of the purchasing process. In other words, hes able to take the emotion out of the analysis. Of course, I understand that home buying is an emotional as well as an analytical process for the buyer; however, I believe that an agent should help the buyer in making a reasonable offer and not the other way around. Simply, John was the first agent wed meet that seemed to understand this. Third, in our experience, selling agents liked working with him. We made offers on a few places and he always seemed to expertly communicate with them. Lastly, hes a good guy, which consequently makes him easy to work with. It almost goes without saying that he was promptly responsive, detail orientated, and able to clearly articulate the intricacies of buying our first home. I would recommend him to anyone.

At no point did we feel pushed or rushed by him. Also, he's very knowledgeable in any construction/remodeling questions, tactics for a great mortgage, and negotiating with the owners. We now found and closed on our cool new place which is way bigger and nicer then we thought we could afford in this crazy market. Long story short, if you want a realtor that doesn't push or hurry you, provides far more services than just unlocking a door then you simply go with John.
