Karen Lum

Karen Lum is an agent for Focus Realty Who recently purchased an evicted the building next to us. Since then they have converted it into an Airbnb style unit which is less than 10 feet from our five month old babies room. There have been frat style parties and and constant cigarette smoke streaming in from the deck that was added to the building above the garage where there was no deck prior. We have made numerous complaints about the parties and the cigarette smoke. She has chosen now to not return our calls and as of August 2017 departing and cigarette smoke still persist. San Francisco smoking ordinance states that you must smoke on the curb or in the alley and they shared space residency. The patios lesson 10 feet from our child's room and this is of no no concern for Karen. It is also listed that once she gets you to sign that she will not return your calls withhold valuable information and not be on top of payments to the city for utilities and taxes. This person deserves to have their real estate license removed.

I don’t understand some of the negative comments here. My experience with Karen Lum & Focus Realty was quite different. I had to move last year when the building I was living in was sold & needed extensive earthquake retrofitting & other work to bring it up to code. Karen not only made sure that myself and another tenant got very generous buyout offers, but when I had a bit of trouble finding a new place to live, she not only helped me in my apartment search but she went over and above what most real estate agents would do and even arranged a temporary place for me to stay until I could get re-settled. If I had the money to actually buy a place of my own in San Francisco, I’d have no trouble working again with Karen & Focus Realty, or recommending them to friends.
