Alicia Buchanan

Working with Ms. Buchanan was a very stressful and frustrating experience. She has lived in the Charlotte market her entire life, so she does know the area. That is where her expertise ends. She is often late to appointments, extremely forgetful, inaccurate in many of her written communications and contracts and continually making excuses. My experience with her included her asking me to make the inspection appointments (even though I did not know her schedule and had to go back and forth with her for each call - rescheduling twice when she had conflicts), sending back the Offer to Purchase Contract 3 times because she had miss marked certain boxes and forgotten others, or included incorrect information, observing her failing to notify the sellers agent of appointments in which we entered the home prior to purchase, being late for appointments, telling me to review my own home inspections and make my own due diligence request for repairs letter and often having “no service” when she needed to be reach during critical junctures. During the due diligence period when I needed her to negotiate on my behalf for several necessary repairs discovered during inspections she informed me “It was simply too difficult to negotiate with the seller because English was his second language.” Being a first time home buyer she was incredibly unhelpful and definitely not a realtor to go above and beyond to help you through the process. Instead, quite often I felt like I was left to do my own research and lead the charge. She stated several times she had so many closing or so many showings she voiding keep them straight. When I was in the offer stage she had closing - when I was in the closing stage, she had new buyers. She constantly seemed overwhelmed. I would strongly advise against utilizing Ms Buchanan if you are seeking a competent realtor who can assist you through the home buying process.
